Below, you can find a list of the courses I have taught or assisted with, in addition to linked syllabi when relevant. This course explores ethnic politics in East and Southeast Asia. We begin by surveying major theories of ethnic politics, followed by a study of the Chinese diaspora in Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. We then examine how Taiwan accommodates its most marginalized minority groups. In the third section, we compare the Taiwanese experience with that of non-Han ethnic minorities in China. The course concludes with a discussion of the challenges and benefits of ethnic diversity, considering its implications not only for Asia but also for the United States. This course received a course development grant from the UT Austin Center for Taiwan Studies.

This week-long workshop is designed to provide students with a foundational review of key methodological tools in preparation for graduate-level study in political science, particularly in the areas of statistics and formal theory. The workshop will reinforce core mathematical skills—including probability theory, calculus, and matrix algebra—and introduce students to basic programming for data analysis and simulation using R.
